Report illegal content

Anyone can report content they believe to be illegal to us, also without a KindChat account (Art. 16 DSA).

With an account, the quickest way is in the app: report a message, a person or a group there. Messages are end-to-end encrypted; we see a message only when someone in the conversation reports it in the app.

Without an account, and as an authority, write to hi@kindchat.app. Your notice should contain:

  1. an explanation of why the content is illegal;
  2. where the content can be found. KindChat is a messenger, so there is usually no web address. Tell us what you know: the name of the group, the person’s profile name and, if you know it, their phone number, the date and approximate time, and the invite link or invite code if you have one;
  3. your name and email address. If it concerns the sexual abuse of children (Articles 3 to 7 of Directive 2011/93/EU), both are optional;
  4. a statement that you believe in good faith that the information you give is accurate and complete.

Please do not send us images or videos showing the sexual abuse of children, not even as evidence. Describe where the content is. If someone is in immediate danger, call the police: 112 anywhere in the EU.

What happens next: we confirm receipt of your notice. A person reviews it in a timely, diligent, objective and non-arbitrary manner and decides. Nothing is automated except, at most, the order: notices about a danger to children are reviewed first. We tell you the decision and how you can challenge it.
